Darlantan (c.8000 PC - 3550 PC) was born the son of Tianaran and Paladine in The Grotto, located near of present-day Thorbardin. He had two sisters named Turq and Kenta. He was the second born dragon of the second generation of metallic dragons. His favorite form to shift into was an elderly human male.
Darlantan was a huge male dragon, had claws like silver sword blades, golden eyes, and a silver body. Darlantan and Kenta became mates and he sired Agon, Arjen, Callak, Daria,Splendor, and Starr.
The Kagonesti[]
Darlantan had always been interested in the Elderwild Elves that would later be named the Kagonesti elves. One day in the summer of 3811 PC, he took the guise of a great ram and was sighted by the Wilder elf named Kagonos. Kagonos saw that Quithas Griffontamer was about ready to kill the great ram but was able to stop him. For this, Darlantan showed his true form only to Kagonos, and produced the two rams horns. One he kept for himself to pass on to the next generations of dragons, and one was for Kagonos, to use when assistance was needed.
First Dragon War[]
While the First Dragon War was raging across Ansalon, Darlantan would sometimes go with Kagonos to join in ambushes against the Ogre and Bakali hordes that were raging across the continent. He would take the form of either dragon, man, or elf.
Darlantan died while fighting two Blue Dragons at the end of the First Dragon War. The two dragons were able to rend one of his wings so that it was useless, and he plummeted one mile to the ground below. He spent his last moments on Krynn with his favorite elf, Kagonos, asking him to make sure to lead his people away from the ways of the Silvanesti. Upon his death, his horn passed on to his son Callak Hornbearer.
